Alliance Alerts: How Text Notifications Work
Set a special tone so you never miss an incoming raid alert.
What to expect
- You’ll receive alert texts from a fixed 10-digit number: (681) 254-4600.
- This number won’t change. Save it in your contacts as USA Alarm Bell.
- Set a unique text tone for this contact so raid alerts sound different from normal messages.
Step 1 — Add the contact
- Create a new contact named USA Alarm Bell.
- Set the mobile number to (681) 254-4600 (digits only when saving).
- Save.
Step 2 — Set a custom text tone
iPhone (iOS 17/18)
- Open Phone → Contacts (or open the contact from Messages).
- Find USA Alarm Bell and tap Edit.
- Tap Text Tone and choose a distinctive sound.
- (Optional) Enable Emergency Bypass to alert during Focus/Do Not Disturb.
- Tap Done.
iOS tips
- If you don’t see Text Tone, edit from the Contacts app (not Recents).
- To allow alerts in a Focus, add this contact under Allowed People for that Focus.
Android (Samsung Messages / One UI)
- Open Contacts → select USA Alarm Bell → Edit.
- Tap View more → Message tone (or Notification sound).
- Choose a unique tone. (Optional) Allow sound/vibration during Do Not Disturb.
- Save.
Android (Google Messages)
- Open the conversation with USA Alarm Bell in Messages.
- Tap the ⋮ menu → Details/Notifications.
- Ensure notifications are on → choose Sound for this conversation.
- (Optional) Enable Override Do Not Disturb if available.
Android tips
- Labels vary by device; look under Notifications → Sound for per-contact/per-thread tones.
- Some phones only allow custom tones from the Messages app (per conversation).
Troubleshooting
- No sound? Make sure the thread isn’t muted and notification volume is up.
- Still silent in Focus/DND? Use Emergency Bypass (iOS) or Override DND (Android).
- Number changed? Alerts only come from (681) 254-4600.
Privacy & reliability
- Alerts are one-way SMS for alliance ops. We don’t sell or share your number.
- Carrier delivery can vary; a unique tone helps you act immediately.
